An unusual tropical storm pass by Venice Beach late night on August 14th 2008. Hundreds of lightning strikes danced around the sky in southern California that night, creating quite a magnificent show. They say lightning sensors even detected 445 ground strikes over a three hour period! This is very unusual for Southern California. Reminded me when I use to live in Florida.
These are long exposure/ time lapse images of the storm by Steven Larson.
